API changes from h3 to h4 result in mismatches with existing hibernate-spatial releases. Through updated pom and java files and through judicious removal or exclusion of test source, it is possible to create -spatial and -spatial-postgis jars. The attached patch includes these changes, but does not complete the task of refactoring the other modules. Should that work be revisited, another patch will be posted. Until then, the current patch may help other developers with similar version requirements.
